Evangelic Church
By these records the Evangelic population appeared at about 1690 in Csesztve, when the village was newly populated by Barátnaky lords. Number of evangelical believers was 158 in that time. The Evangelical liturgy was in Slovak language. The believers built their church in 1730, it was destroyed in 1740, rebuilt in 1757, its length was 6 fathom, width 2 and half fathom. In 1763 it was also destroyed. After it the church was again rebuilt in first part of Tabán, where two brooks meet each other. The church was rebuilt from the donation of believers on a very wet ground in 1873. it was spacious and available for accomodation of believers. The tower was older than the church: surely the church was built to the tower. For the rebuild of church the greatest financial donation was given by János Dudás (Dobi) master, who was curator for a long time and whoose name is written on the door of church interior even today. This filial is belonged to the mother church of Szügy. The income of the priest is from the mother church, appr. 100 forint. The local Evangelical people have religious and school organization, they can steer their life properly. Their cemetery is above the village facing to Szügy.
By the 100-th anniversary of construction of the church – in 1973 – the church was ruined, because it was cracked and it was re-built.
